Jewels Of Our Labour!

24 Nov

Well hello there!

Finally I have time to sit and write up all about the amazing Jewellery course that us Doolallytat girls went to. We had an amazing day at Northbrook college Cutting, Pressing, Stamping and Enameling our very own hand cut metal creations.

The course was perfect for us as the wonderful Tutor showed us all the basics and left us to get on with it. It was a learning curve for sure as our desks were littered with broken saw blades and some achy hands from sawing away at hunks of brass and copper. We both agreed however we would like to keep it up and have already purchased all the tools for the job.

Here are some pictures of what we made on the day:

Hopefully we will get to making some more with our new tools ready to add to the new Doolallytat collection next year.

XOXOX

Like a Jello on Springs!

WOW what a weekend!!!

Spent Saturday celebrating and Sunday recuperating after the ‘boy’ had his 30th birthday celebrations in London.

I love London it is full of everyone and all-sorts. A bit like Brighton but where as Brighton is full of eccentrics. London is a much bigger fashion pot.

We saw some amazing sights including a girl who looked like she had spray painted on a leopard print dress and taken the rest of her outfit off a barbie doll. Despite this not being a fashion I would follow I must say it was working for her and her friend who had gone for the same sort of look but with more of a Jordonesque theme.

On Sunday morning on the advise of friends we went to get a bacon sandwich at one of Londons many markets (Which may I add we found out was not in fact open on a Sunday) here we saw a rather smashing chap in his skinny jeans, skinny tee and face paint! A lot of work for a Sunday morning I had to applaud his effort as I staggered around just about managing to walk having not yet had a cuppa.

We did finally go and get a cuppa and some food at a place called Absolutely Starving it was a little grocery selling all sorts of goodies like Lindt choccies and my favorite Tea Pigs tea bags. Here we had breakfast in a box we took a little convincing but all in all it was quite yummy and much needed after the previous night Gin soaked fun.

Now it is Monday and my legs ache from roaming the streets of London but I am recovering slowly and looking forward to next weekend when The Doolallytat girls are off on a days jewellery making course. Here is hoping my weekend has given me some inspiration.
