Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head…

12 Jun

Hubby arrived home from work yesterday and the first thing he said was have you not got the football on the telly! To be honest i used to quite enjoy watching a bit of England play but im starting to think that may have just been watching David Beckham running around in his shorts!. So I thought lets take the dogs out and leave the Hubby with the little dude to have some male bonding over the football.

Now don’t get me wrong I love my dogs but walking them in the rain isn’t one of my favourite things but yesterday I had what can only be described as Fun, with a capital F!. MeMe the MinPin didn’t fancy it she’s not fond of the rain (bless her little high maintenance heart). But Brucie the Labrador cannot get enough no matter what the weather.

The rain wasn’t at its heaviest but looked like it was building again for another massive downpour so I decided not to go too far from home so I could get home fast if it did start to chuck it down. I’m really lucky where I live as its like a dog walkers dream with fields and hills only a stones throw away. So off I set ball thrower in hand to our local gallops, this was the view to the fields the other-side of the valley. Mmmm just look at all that lovely sunshine on this beautiful June Day…Not!

It’s hard to miss that it hasn’t stopped raining the past few days but I have never seen rain settle as much as it has, so this was the last thing I was expecting to see huge deep puddles in a place which is usually pretty dry! So Hunter Wellie’s yes Gold Hunter Wellie’s at the ready me and Brucie had some fun Running through the Puddles playing Chase and his ultimate favourite thing catching his ball!

Luckily there was no one else out walking and if there were I think they would have made a swift walk pass after looking at the mad dog lady belly laughing with her crazy Labrador! Some parts of the puddles were deeper than my Wellie’s and at one point I got kind of stuck and ended up quite soaked.

After all that fun it was time to go home, a bath for Brucie to wash all that puddle water off, Labradors are more absorbent than sponges.

So here’s to embracing this wonderful wet June!
